Smartlead.AI

Add a Smartlead action to quickly connect to your email sequencer and automatically lookup or sync records. This will allow you to trigger emails from Clay, without needing to ever go to Smartlead for an upload.

For both accounts and people there are 3 different actions - "Lookup", "Create", and "Upsert".

Additionally there's an "Add Person to Cadence" action that can be used AFTER the person has been created.

1️⃣ Lookup Lead in Campaign

If you want to:

  • Lookup whether a lead or not

  • Lookup the information in Smartlead for lead

Lookup Lead

For Lookup Lead in Campaign, you need to map an email column. Once running this action - you'll receive all data in your Smartlead account for the Lead (if the match was found).

This action is particularly helpful if you want to conditionally exclude records you already have in Smartlead from further enrichment.

2️⃣ Add Lead in Campaign

If you want to:

  • Add a lead to a Smartlead campaign

Add Lead to Campaign

For Add Lead to Campaign, you need to map a Campaign ID (Which you can select) and an email address.

This action is particularly helpful if you want to take the leads you've found in Clay and instantly create corresponding records in Smartlead. Please note - if the person already exists, we will not create duplicates by default.

3️⃣ Update Lead in Campaign

  • Update a lead already in Smartlead

Update Lead in Campaign

For Update Lead in Campaign, you need to select a campaign ID and map both a Lead ID and an Email Address. After mapping the initial input, you'll see all of the properties you have in your Smartlead instance below. You can map entire columns to the different Smartlead properties.

For example, if you have a column in your Clay table with ChatGPT summaries of what the company does and you want this in Smartlead:

  • Choose an existing Smartlead property where you want this to live

    • OR create a new Smartlead property for this description

  • Map the column from your Clay table into the Smartlead action's corresponding column

** To Find the Lead ID, you can first run "Lookup Lead" from Smartlead. Then map the output of that integration into the Lead ID of this column.

This action combines Lookup + Create. We typically recommend using this action if you have accounts/people in your Clay table that may already exist Smartlead.
