Clay Lookup(s)

- Lookup Record in Other Table

- Lookup Single Row

- Lookup Multiple Rows

1️⃣ What does it do?

Check if a record exists within the same or another Clay table. It will help you determine how many matches it can find for a given value, and allow you to pull the related information associated with a match between rows or tables, or even help you filter out leads that appear more than once.

2️⃣ How to set it up:

  1. In your table, click on Enrich Data.

  2. Use the search bar to find Lookup Record or Lookup Row, or within the Tools tab -> Lookup.

  3. Select the table to search in.

  4. Select the target column from the other table that contains the list of values you want to evaluate against the Row Value from the target column in your current table.

    • Determine what type of match you want to apply for the evaluation.

  5. Click on Continue to Add Fields.

    • Toggle the data points you wish to map out automatically after it completes the search (data can also be mapped out after).

  6. Save and run!

3️⃣ Data Provided:

Click Here to see all data points provided by the Lookup

It provides a list of records and values found in the other table when a match is confirmed, which can now be used and mapped out into the current table.

  • Lookup Single or Multiple Rows integrations won't return empty fields. For example, if you have a column with no values/data in Table 1, then that field will be skipped by the lookups in Table 2 (or within itself)

    • If "empty" fields show up when you check the Cell Details then you likely have a white space in the source cells.

  • Lookup Record in Other Table can and still returns columns even if they don't have any data.
