In this article, we will walk through a step by step process for how to connect data into Clay tables via Hightouch.
Step 1
Open Hightouch and click on Destinations. Add an HTTP Request destination, click Basic Auth, then use this as the Base URL: https://api.clay.com/v3/sources/webhook/
Step 2
Save the Destination, then go to Models and click on the one corresponding to the data you’re trying to sync to Clay. On that page, click on Syncs, then Add Sync, then look up the new Destination and click on it.
Step 3
In a separate tab, open the Clay table you want the data to end up in. Click on Actions in the top-right corner, then Import, then Import Data from Webhook. Copy the Webhook URL.
Step 4
Follow the instructions in the video walkthrough below. When filling in the field under “What is the URL?” paste in the Webhook URL you just copied from Clay, minus the Base URL, which is already filled in.
Step 5
Repeat the same steps where it says “Rows changed” so that updated entries, not just new ones, are synced with Clay.
Step 6
Under “Initial sync behavior,” choose “Yes, backfill all rows” if you want to send all existing data. Otherwise, you will only send net new data to Clay from the time this connection is set up.
That's it! You did it! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to our team in Slack or at [email protected]. Happy Clay-making!
